NAMEPA 2020 Strategic Objectives

We envision a world in which students from traditionally underrepresented minority backgrounds have access to and success in higher education (undergraduate and graduate), professional placement, and entrepreneurial pursuits leading to communities of engineering professionals that reflect the diversity of our nation.

NAMEPA 2020 Strategic Objectives:

  1. To identify metric-driven strategies to increase the participation of historically underrepresented domestic students in engagement, learning, and discovery activities about engineering and STEM
  2. To encourage interest, recruitment, enrollment, and matriculation of underrepresented domestic students in engineering and STEM disciplines at the undergraduate and graduate level
  3. To provide programs that increase K-12 focus on mathematics, science, and engineering and inspire students to learn how they can use these tools to serve humanity, improve the quality of life, and make the world a better place
  4. To create an environment that fosters the celebration of cultural diversity across all engineering and STEM disciplines and promotes global learning opportunities
  5. To provide metrics and publications that stimulate collegial and corporate dialogue to champion the national effort to achieve workforce diversity and inclusion
